Simplified Barrett hand model

I have a question regarding the simplified Barret hand model. I remember that it is simplified in that it ignores the "threshold force" and I am trying to work out what that means? Does it mean that when it grasps an object there is a threshold force that would typically stop the grasp from exerting...

Re: Some form of memory leak

It managed to make it through the weekend. And is still running :) though its still sitting at 99% usage. It would be nice if there was a way to release cache memory. Perhaps a suggestion for a next revision?

Re: V-Rep crashes after locking and unlocking Ubuntu.

Hi. I had this issue before - I had to solve it by switching off my screen rather than locking which is not ideal. That being said, I think it has to do with the XServer on my system, if you get anywhere with this pls post, I will do the same.

Re: Some form of memory leak

Right my PC crashed, just unresponsive so started everything again. Starting just Matlab and V-REP there are no issues. Its definitely when I start up my program. Right now in the beginning after just starting the simulation the memory is 2.4% and total CPU is 99% I can work along side the simulatio...

Re: Some form of memory leak

This is after running overnight: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k1y1fjzwzaa5fpo/Selection_002.png?dl=0 I will check every few hours and do the same screen shot to see what's happening and if the memory usage is building, my feeling is that it is and that it's something with XServer - It seems to use a lo...

Some form of memory leak

V-REP will run fine for a while, days even. My simulation takes days to record all the data. After some time the remote API crashes and my entire computer slows to a standstill - it's a high-performance computer so it shouldn't. Its like there is some form of memory leak. I restart V-REP and things ...

V-REP crashing after Ubuntu update

Hi, This is the error I am getting: Using the default Lua library. Loaded the video compression library. Add-on script 'vrepAddOnScript-addOnScriptDemo.lua' was loaded. ./vrep.sh: line 33: 22074 Segmentation fault (core dumped) "$dirname/$appname" "${PARAMETERS[@]}" The only thing that is different ...

Re: Custom material

Thank you! Just as interest - when will that be? I have tried using the Newton and Vortex engines - but both are proving to be unstable, I think it has to do with my objects being imported rather than built from within VREP. Vortex does not seem to have a user manual that can help with stability wit...

Re: Custom material

This has not yet made it into V-REP 3.3.2. It will be in next release Cheers Ok - thank you. Is there a way to either: 1) Save all aspects of the simulation so that when it is re-run it will do exactly the same thing as it did previously. To be able to optimise the constraints of ODE. 2) Set the se...
