Re: how to set y vector up when importing mesh from a script

You can iterate through your imported shape vertices and detect the lowest z-coordinate. Then iterate through your road shape and detect the highest z-coordinate. Then you know how much you need to shift the imported shape. You will have to use sim.getShapeMesh . Remember that the read vertices are ...

Re: How to detect spotlight object intensity by vision sensor of robot

Hello,

I don't know how the Kilobots are operating exactly, since we haven't made that model. But you will probably go through all pixels read by the vision sensor, and detect an increased luminosity somehow. For that, you can use sim.getVisionSensorCharImage.

Re: Cannot set initial velocity though Matlab API

Hello, can you tell me what V-REP version you are running? Also, in the mean time and as a work-around, you can instead call a script function that will execute the code from within a script for you: simxCallScriptFunction . Just make sure to use a customization script for that, since you need the s...

Re: Joint (acting as position control motor) only works at fast speeds

Hello, those special behaviours can always happen, and are directly dependent on the used physics engines and/or how the physics engines are implemented as a V-REP plugin. Did you try to adjust the Bullet engine-specific joint properties? Also, you could try to write your own joint position controll...

Re: Legacy OpenGL UI

Hello, the old custom UI will unfortunately eventually disappear... that's also one of the reasons why the reference documentation to it is not mentioned anymore. Transparency and frameless options are things that could be added quite easily to the Qt-based custom UI functionality. You can try your ...

Re: How to control quadricopter using ROS twist message

Hello, the control algorithm of the quadcopter was just meant to be a simple example. The best is to write a new controller that you will also understand how to modify and adjust. And instead of starting with a quadcopter, you could start with a simple cube floating in the air. Then try to add exter...

Re: More axis support in the joystick plugin

It is difficult to predict how the different joystick makers (or different joystick models) are forwarding their signals. Some some that have 2 linear axis and a rotation will put the rotation signal as the 3rd linear axis.

Re: Simulating a differential

Hello, if you want to implement the differential in a different way as it was done in the Manta model, then you should use the Vortex engine which supports connections between two or more joints. Have a look at the demo scene gearMechanism.ttt . You will have to work with the Joint dependency parame...
