Re: How to make the object frame parallel to the defined frame in stl file.

Hello, typically, STL files do no contain any frame information. It is just a collection of vertices and indices. Once you have imported a shape, V-REP will define a frame around the shape in a way as to minimize the volume of the bounding box. You can however change the bounding box / frame by sele...

Re: Running V-Rep headless on CPU cluster

Hello, V-REP does currently not have a true headless mode. This means that if you start V-REP in headless mode, you will still need all the GUI and graphic card dependencies. You can/could however recompile V-REP in headless mode. In that case, the dependencies are not there anymore, but you will no...

Re: Transfering camera and gyro data from V-REP to the MATLAB via RemoteAPI

Hello, at first glance your code looks fine: you first initialize streaming, then try to read the image from the input buffer. However you are maybe not waiting enough (maybe it takes a bit longer than 0.1 s for the first image to arrive). Also, first try to simple get the image and display it via a...

Re: sim.getObjectPosition

Are you using the correct values for publishing? e.g. is the object really moving, or are you mistakenly using the handle of an object that is not moving? Try adding print directives just before publishing the data to see what the data is, and so that you can locate where the problem occurs.

Re: Control the gripper orientation while the robot follow a path with IK method

I think this is the cleanest way of doing it (via calculations). You can easily obtain the transformation matrix of the camera via sim.getObjectMatrix and then use it for your calculations.

Re: Control the gripper orientation while the robot follow a path with IK method

Hello,

for what you want to do, make sure that the gripper joint is not part of the IK group. Set that joint to passive mode. Then, from within a child script for instance, control its orientation via sim.setJointPosition.

Re: Probabilistic Robotics

Hello,

try to handle one task after the other. At the very first, make sure to follow a few tutorials. Also have a look how the various example models and scene are made/programmed. Then try to create a simple inverse pendulum as a beginning. Then move ahead step-by-step.

Re: Combining 2 joints

Hello,

you need to create a loop closure. Have a look here.
Have also a look at this example scene.

Re: Can force/torque control of joint achieve positive and negative motion during one control loop?

Hello,

you can only set the amplitude of the force/torque. The sign is set via the joint target velocity. So set following:

Code: Select all

sim.setJointForce(handle,math.abs(f))
if f~=0 then
    sim.setJointTargetVelocity(handle,math.abs(vel)*f/math.abs(f))
end

The tank with water is just visual effects. Transparent textures that are shifted dynamically.
