Re: Collision object being removed

Hello,

that sounds strange. Is the object erased or is that object still visible in the scene hierarchy? Is the object dynamic or static?

Re: Problem with Ik configuration

Hello, you are trying to solve several problems at once, you should focus on one problem at a time. First, with your scara robot, I am not sure it is the right approach to move the end-effector in Euclidean space, since you'll have to deal with the singular configurations of your robot (typically at...

Re: Applying wheel contact forces

Hello, you can't simply apply fixed forces, since a tiny little positional/orientational error will make your vehicle spin faster and faster. Notice that with all physics engines, but the Newton engine, you'll have that spinning. Also with Newton, you'll get this, if the initial orientation of your ...

Re: Crash when compiling without Qt

Hello,

V-REP is hanging, not crashing, right? You can try to enabled a few of the debug variables in file system/usrset.txt, e.g. debugInternalFunctionAccess, debugCApiAccess or debugLuaApiAccess. MAybe that can tell us a bit more where...

Re: decimal numbers

Hello,

what about writing 5 instead of 2??
Like:

Code: Select all

string.format("%.5f",1/3)

Re: Beginner question for importing objects and getting proper dynamic properties

Hello,

please read this page carefully (mainly design considerations 1-3).
btw, V-REP doesn't handle the dynamic aspect of a simulation, the various available physics engines do (i.e. Bullet, ODE, Vortex or Newton)

Re: Simulation fail calling sim.loadScene

Hello,

you cannot use that function from a customization script, since that function will trigger first a scene erase before a scene load.
You can only use that function from an add-on (or from the sanbox script).

Re: Backlash

Hello, you can do this in the exact same way. For each wheel, create following: VehicleFrame --> joint1 --> auxMass --> joint2 --> wheel with: auxMass should be non-respondable joint1 and joint2 should be parallel joint1 is the motor, and that joint should be in force/torque mode, with the motor ena...

Re: How can VREP display a robot heading orientation

Hello, yes, just use simx.getObjectOrientation. If your robot's frame doesn't have the Z-axis pointing up, then you can simply attach a dummy to the robot (with its Z-axis pointing up), then read the orientation of the dummy. The 3rd component of the euler angles that are returned is your heading, i...

Re: [Simulated Kinect] Do not detect points on far clipping plane

Hello, you are free to modify that behaviour. In the current code, the points that do not detect anything are clipped to a maximum distance from the sensor. You could modify the code to following: if u[w+3]<2.5 then local p={u[w+1],u[w+2],u[w+3]} sim.addDrawingObjectItem(points,sim.multiplyVector(m,...
