Re: Importing and visualizing pointcloud

Maybe the following API function can help: sim.transformBuffer

Re: Franka Panda to V-Rep

The reason to start from scratch is that a URDF file might contain overly complicated meshes (e.g. used also for other purposes than simple simulation) and this might dramatically slow down the simulation. And also because many things can usually be simplified in a simulation. Then also, you will ex...

Re: Asti Model info for structural Analysis

Your force sensor is only connecting to rightLowerLeg0, which has no children. Additionally, you have broken your model: look at your model by enabling all visual layers and you'll see that something's fishy.

Re: Draw over a surface

Hello,

I think you will have to use the property sim.drawing_painttag for your drawing objects to be visible through vision sensors

Re: Plugin example Skeleton

Hello,

it seems you just discovered a bug. It should be:

Code: Select all

_doubleValues.resize(s);
instead of:

Code: Select all

_doubleValues.reserve(s);
in file programming/common/stack/stackArray.cpp, in function buildFromStack. The common repository was corrected.

Thanks for pointing this out!

Re: Consistently simulating a full scissor parallel system driven by a single joint

You would probably have to write a joint control callback routine. Then you would be in control of the force/torque and max. velocity at every instant.

Re: V-REP on Ubuntu runs 2x slower than on Mac or Windows

Did you try to install a better driver for your graphic card? The headless mode you are talking about is still generating vision sensor images, thus the small speed gain you see (you have 4 vision sensors in your scene from your screenshots). You could also try to play with the OpenGl settings such ...

Re: Asti Model info for structural Analysis

Hello, for that, try to use the Vortex engine for more reliable data. Make also sure to compare the data from one engine to the other t get a feeling which engine provides better/worse data. If you introduce auxiliary masses, then the results are also a bit biased. But you often do not have a choice...

Re: Consistently simulating a full scissor parallel system driven by a single joint

Hello, the result is indeed directly linked to the used physics engine, and for each engine you could try to apply a different strategy/parameters for a better stability. Closed chains and parallel mechanisms are not always easy to be dynamically simulated. For that reason it is often better to take...

Re: Synchronous operation with Python using remote API

Probably 5ms is a bit too fast. Also because you want to run the remote API in synchronous mode. Make a few tests to see.
