Re: Tutorial on creating automatic V-REP simulations for statistical studies

Hello, you have several possibilities. The best would probably to use an add-on script : you can launch a specific add-on script at V-REP launch via the -b command line argument . From within that script, load a scene, set various parameters (such as object positions, etc.), run a simulation (with t...

Re: Direct joint torque/force control

Hello, setting the torque/target velocity of your joint when the motor in not enable will have no effect: the joint will remain free (not motorized). When your motor is enabled, simply set a large target velocity (e.g. 600 deg/s for a revolute joint). Then, simply modulate the torque/force with sim....

Re: Problem with Ik configuration

Because you are not using the RML functionality to move your target dummy. If you did, your target dummy would not jump (or you are using the RML functions not correctly). Of course you can also, when your robot is in dynamic mode, set the joint upper velocity limit . But then you are not in control...

Re: Set Shape Inertia with Matlab API

Hello,

yes, Irving is right, currently this is your best option. You could of course also modify the remote API, which is currently overkill. The next version of the remote API will be based on BlueZero, and very easily extendible. Should be available in next release.

Re: simGetVisionSensorxxxx() memory leak

Hello,

there was indeed a memory leak in the image plugin. Did you try to recompile the plugin after that?

Re: Share simulation by network

Hello, yes this is possible to a certain extent: you can have a central machine that runs the simulation, and several other machines connecting to it and controlling a specific part of the simulation (e.g. one robot). The connection to V-REP can happen in many different ways. The easiest would proba...

Re: Problem with Ik configuration

Maybe it is a good idea to first start with something simple, and go step-by-step, since what you are trying to achieve is not that straight-forward. Have a look at this scene , that illustrates in a simple way how the RML-functions can be used to move a joint (the approach is very similar in case y...

Re: Collision object being removed

Hello,

that sounds strange. Is the object erased or is that object still visible in the scene hierarchy? Is the object dynamic or static?

Re: Problem with Ik configuration

Hello, you are trying to solve several problems at once, you should focus on one problem at a time. First, with your scara robot, I am not sure it is the right approach to move the end-effector in Euclidean space, since you'll have to deal with the singular configurations of your robot (typically at...
