Trouble running V-REP headless

Hi There, I've installed Ubuntu 16.04 and the latest version of V-REP on a desktop computer that we plan to use as a server. I am trying to get V-REP to run headless so that we can ssh in and run headless simulations. I can get it to run headless if I am logged in locally, but nothing will work over...

Applying a simple texture to a plane

Hi There, I am using the texture load dialogue to apply a rectangular texture to a rectangular plane. Both the plane and the texture have the same aspect ratio. When I load the texture I choose not to scale it because I want to maintain the high quality of the image. The problem is that when the ima...

Re: simSetOrientation doesn't seem to work correctly

wow, can't believe I didn't try that! guess I shouldn't be debugging late into the night :D

It is all in radians indeed. May I request that someone updates the documentation though?
Both simGetObjectOrientation and simSetObjectOrientation don't mention anything about the units used.

Thanks!

simSetOrientation doesn't seem to work correctly

Hi There, I am writing a plugin that sets up a scene before starting a simulation. In order to set up an object I call simSetObjectOrientation and then simSetObjectPosition right after. The object always gets placed in the exact position I specify, but the orientation does not seem to work. I pass i...

Re: Can a plugin unload itself?

Thanks for getting back to me! I actually ended up simply returning 0 during the v_repStart plugin procedure. I noticed that the v_repExtRosInterface plugin does this if a roscore is not running. So I simply check for all the required conditions during the v_repStart function and if any are not met,...

Can a plugin unload itself?

I am trying to get a plugin to unload itself upon launch if it doesn't see a specific custom argument (-gXXX). The plugin automatically controls a lot of aspects of the simulation so I don't want it to load unless specifically desired. My initial plan was to call simUnloadModule() within the v_repSt...

Re: Unsure about where to write code (plugin, addon, etc)

Thanks for the reply! I've written a small plugin and tested some functionality. I have a few more questions: ⋅ I also found sim_message_eventcallback_modulehandleinsensingpart similar to sim_message_eventcallback_modulehandle . Is there any differences between these two other than one get...

Unsure about where to write code (plugin, addon, etc)

Hi There, I read this page about writing code to customize VREP but I'm not sure which option to go with. I am looking to create a sort of testing/verification module that would run every simulation loop at check for things like collisions, locations of objects, etc and do some logging. It seems a p...
