Re: Efficient curved conveyor using angular velocity instead of path

Would it be easy to compile with the latest bullet engine released to see if that has any effect?

Re: Efficient curved conveyor using angular velocity instead of path

Yes I noticed that effect on cylinders as well, and have been using the static method on straight conveyors. But especially the behaviour in corners is useful to simulate (for instance when using multiple tracks with different speeds to manipulate the angle of objects coming out of a corner). Anyway...

Re: Efficient curved conveyor using angular velocity instead of path

Hi, Thanks for looking into it, now I know the code is ok and the problem is most likely with the bullet engine. I do prefer working with the Vortex engine, but it is much slower than bullet (which has an overall best performance). Maybe we can think of a way to fool bullet (a work around). For inst...

Re: Efficient curved conveyor using angular velocity instead of path

I've been working with using the above velocity tricks, but I'm getting unpredictable behaviour when running conveyors on slow speeds. Link to sample scene: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0posq8dzc0t4w60/conv_vrepforum.ttt?dl=0 The code is (hopefully) self-explanatory: if (sim_call_type==sim_childscriptc...

Re: Change name of IK group / RML version / adjust texture

It's important that our simulations are compatible with the current version of the player, so I'll wait for the next release. Thanks, J.

Re: Change name of IK group / RML version / adjust texture

Thanks!
Can it be that simSetReferencedHandles does not support IK group handles?

Robot language control: Using ABB RAPID codes

Hi, It'd great to further develop the v_repExtMTB plugin used in the robotLanguageControl example so it supports well-known commands (like MoveJ, MoveL, etc) used in industrial standard/well-known scripting languages like ABB RAPID (or Fanuc KAREL, Kawasaki AS, etc.). This would make the migration f...

Change name of IK group / RML version / adjust texture

Hi, Just of couple of questions I've been wondering about: 1. Is it possible to change the name of an IK-Group from within a child script? simSetObjectName doesn't seem to work. 2. Is it possible to create a material and/or change material properties (friction etc) from within a child script? 3. Ref...

Simulation of industrial bakery equipment

https://vimeo.com/229186024 We use V-REP to simulate bakery equipment / complete baking lines, including connectivity with PLC's. The grand goal: to eliminate rework (for instance replacing motors because capacity is not reached, or fixing the many small bugs & issues in the software that pop-up af...
