Simulation of industrial bakery equipment

https://vimeo.com/229186024 We use V-REP to simulate bakery equipment / complete baking lines, including connectivity with PLC's. The grand goal: to eliminate rework (for instance replacing motors because capacity is not reached, or fixing the many small bugs & issues in the software that pop-u...

Switch between metric/imperial

Hi, Would it be realistic to expect an update that'll make it possible to switch between metric and imperial system? This is an issue when working with non-EU customers. My only concern is the front-end (the window forms that mention weight, size, length, etc.). I imagine that the back-end (dynamics...

Tips for improving performance on scene with >500 dynamic objects

Hi, Do you have any tips to improve performance (time) in this scene: https://www.dropbox.com/s/v19822y3ce4zugh/PerformanceTestSimple.ttt?dl=0 It is a very simple scene: a respondable plane with 500 cuboids on top. I've tried the most basic options: threaded rendering, changing the physics engine (+...

Re: Efficient curved conveyor using angular velocity instead of path

Works like a charm: simSetObjectFloatParameter(forwarder,sim_shapefloatparam_init_velocity_g,speed) simSetObjectFloatParameter(forwarder,sim_shapefloatparam_init_velocity_x,speed*-factor) simSetObjectFloatParameter(forwarder,sim_shapefloatparam_init_velocity_y,speed*factor) Where factor=outer radius...

Re: Efficient curved conveyor using angular velocity instead of path

The 2nd option works (thanks!) but adds some extra shapes and joints, so I'm trying to work out your first suggestion. I can rotate the shape around the correct axis (using simRotateAroundAxis), like so: m=simRotateAroundAxis(m,{0,0,1},{-2,0,0},math.rad(speed)) simSetObjectMatrix(forwarder,-1,m) Sho...

Efficient curved conveyor using angular velocity instead of path

Hi, The circular conveyor in the example model browser (equipment->conveyor belts->"circular conveyor belt.ttm") uses a path. This works, but is not very efficient. So I tried to create a more efficient one using the same method as used with the "conveyor belt (very efficient).ttm&quo...

Portable V-REP player

Hi,
Is it possible to create/compile a portable V-REP player? I'd like to share simulations with customers without them having to install the whole program.
regards,
Justus

Hi,
Just a little bump ("upvote") for this feature, it would be a great help during development!

Programmatically set dummy property "Follow parent path"

Hi,
Is it possible to set this property via a Lua child script:
Dummy -> Trajectory -> "Follow parent path (only direct parent)"?

Re: Impact force on collision

Great tip! Visualizing force works. Something I cannot explain is the following: I used "models/other/contact display.ttm", drew a sphere with mass 1 KG at about 10 cm above the floor. When it lands on the floor it shows the big impact, which then stabilizes to ~9.81 (Z-force). However, ev...
