Backlash

Hello,

I am trying to model a robot arm which (unfortunately) has significant backlash at each joint.

What would be the best way of introducing this into my model?

My end goal is to work out a custom control loop that gives the arm smooth motion.

Thanks!

Updating VREP

Sorry if this is a silly question, but how do I update VREP to the latest version? Do I simply download the new version and install it on top of the old one, or is there an auto-update feature?

Thanks

Re: Magnetic wheels

Thats fantastic! How did you model the magnets? Did you write a custom plugin?

Shadows

Are shadows supported at all in VREP? I am working on a simulation and want it to look as realistic as possible. I think shadows would really help to "sell" it.

Any other advice to make it look as real-world as possible?

Thanks!

Scissors - Cuttable Objects

Hi, I am working on a robot with scissors and I am trying to simulate cutting. What I have done so far is add a mill attached to a prismatic joint which actuates linearly as I open and close the scissors. This seems to work well enough. The problem I am encountering is that when I cut a part in half...
