Re: ODE Nondeterminism

Hi,

Does the current release have this change available?

Thx

Re: Custom material

Yes, that is correct. Thank you. EDIT: I followed the attached suggestion and found that the object disappears as said when quickStep is deactivated. (Ubuntu 16.04; V-REP 3.3.2r3 64 bit) I then added this line to "TheAlmighty" seed=0 simSetEngineInt32Parameter(sim_ode_global_randomseed,-1,seed) But ...

Re: Custom material

Ok, thank you. Is there any reason why this causes changes in how the simulation works? I ask because of the issue I am getting. I have a child script that runs during the simulation "TheAlmighty" I import an object and set its material id line 49. (it started out as 'usr_ode_mat' and I change it he...

Custom material

Hi, I have created a unique surface for my object which I am importing into vrep. This is so that I can modify the dynamic properties and see the effects. I do this by selecting defaultMaterial and duplicating it, giving it a unique name, and saving the scene. However, every time I re-open my scene ...

Re: Simple Barrett hand

I hear you - probably why I am unable to see which loop to connect now. I read through the page and I get what it's saying, which is dynamic and what the loop is - I am pretty ok with the theory. But it is almost impossible for me to test that it's working because I have to run through matlab and lo...

Re: Simple Barrett hand

There is something I am not getting right:

Copy and paste gives me:
Barrett_openCloseJoint3 -> Barrett_cyl10 -> Barrett_dum12
Then I make BarrettHand parent
But now I need to attach the dum12 to something - or do I need to delete one of the other dummy joints?

Re: VREP definition of friction

For a little more clarity from my side. ODE seems to have to ways to work out friction. We are just wondering which one VRep uses?

Re: VREP definition of friction

Thanks, but there is a distinction on the ODE description, so I am still a bit unclear: ODE's friction models are approximations to the friction cone, for reasons of efficiency. There are currently two approximations to chose from: - The meaning of mu is changed so that it specifies the maximum fric...

Re: Simple Barrett hand

Hi,

Is there any chance you could talk me through separating the two fingers on the other side please?

Thx

VREP definition of friction

Hi, I was wondering if there was a good way to look at how to vary the parameters for materials using ODE: Friction: a friction value. Two colliding objects will have a combined friction value of value1*value2. This does not correspond to the real friction coefficient. Maximum contacts: the maximum ...
