Re: V-REP gradually slows down in Docker

When you stop a simulation, you usually need more than one simulation step, so simply waiting one ping is probably not enough. Better would be to wait for the simulation to be stopped with simxGetInMessageInfo . Also, if you start data streaming with the simx_opmode_streaming operation mode, you sho...

Re: simxGetObjectPosition problem

Hello,

you need to carefully read this and that section. Have also a look how streaming is done in the simpleTest.cpp example.

Re: Simulation freeze when sensor enters objects area

Hello, this is because V-REP will compute calculation structures on-the-fly, when needed. Those calculation structures are needed in order to make fast collision, distance or proximity sensor calculations. So as long as the proximity sensor's bounding box doesn't overlap with the shape's bounding bo...

Re: How to enable Screw pitch

If you need a screw-type actuator in force/torque mode, then do something like: revoluteJoint --> auxiliaryShape --> prismaticJoint Then add a non-threaded child script to one of the two joint, and use a joint callback function that links the position of one joint to the other. This will give you a ...

Re: simxGetVisionSensorImage

It is normal that at first you will not receive any image... the streaming command first needs to travel to V-REP, and the first image back to the client. But it seems that the connection is the problem. Did you try the simpleTest.cpp example? Does it work?

Re: Robot Joint Motion

Hello,

since the search is randomized and your robot allows for several configurations for a given end-effector pose, you will probably find different solutions for different simulation runs. I think there is no other way around than to increase N..

Re: sim.launchExecutable does not work in true headless mode

Hello Mathias, there could be a problem with the alternate version of the VVarious::executeExternalApplication function, then one that doesn't use Qt... maybe someone can spot the problem? bool VVarious::executeExternalApplication(const std::string& file, const std::string& arguments, const std::strin...

Re: B0-based remote API

Hello, the legacy remote API is much smaller footprint than the B0-based remote API. However it is not as intuitive to use and extend. The B0-based remote API is also much more flexible in how it operates, and more transparent. From a performance aspect, there are not big differences I guess. Both r...

Re: Forces of an object

You have several problems: if your object has a mass of 10Kg, then your prismatic joint would need not a max. force of 50 Newtons (as you have it now), but at least 98.1 Newton. If your max. force is 50 Newtons, you will not measure more than that in that joint! (except at the joint limits) Your pri...
