Re: bulldozer on a plane

One thing that often helps with then physics engine is to increase masses and moments of inertia of objects above their realistic values, I don't know whether your bulldozer is infact a small robot pushing around some drinks cans or a computer controleld fullsized bulldozer pushing around tonnes of ...

Re: Making wheeled vehicles with kinematics and no dynamics?

I have had to have quite a few convex shapes, the issue is that some of my shapes are the kind of thing which is really hard to represent as a collection of cyliners and/or cubes. Any tips for easy and efficient ways to make shapes of this sort of form https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn...

Re: Increasing length of console log

Set by my terminal application? Just to be clear I am talking here about the console at the bottom of V-REP which is printed to using print() not the one you get to if you use print=printToConsole. I couldn't do my printing to the linux terminal using print=printToConsole because the linux terminal ...

Making wheeled vehicles with kinematics and no dynamics?

I've got a simulation of a modular robot which works very nicely alone. It contains many dynamic and responable components. The key things this robot does are to drive around, dock with other robots (using dummies with dynamic overlap constraints), and hinge in the middle to lift other robots up. Du...

Increasing length of console log

I've been doing some tests but found a few buggy effects in the code (internal lua scripts) that I've written as my controllers. I've resorted to inserting lots of print statements into my code to output it to the console, this way I can diagnose where bugs in my controller code lie. But I'm finding...

Re: Sensing if a light sensor is within a cone of light

Thanks for the tip, I changed the IlluminationList=sim.unpackTable(IlluminationList) line (line 7) in the initialisation function to IlluminationList={} . I no longer get error messages. And yet it now seems that nothing is being written to the datablock at all. despite what is done on lines 16, 17 ...

Thanks, I worked something out from these. Seems to be working perfectly.

Re: Sensing if a light sensor is within a cone of light

I've attached a simplified file where one can move the object called "Robot" into and out of the cone cast by the proximity sensor "IR_light_cone". Depending on whether the dummy "Robot_phototransistorOne" is inside the cone or not differing messages should be printed by the object "Robot". However ...

Re: Sensing if a light sensor is within a cone of light

I'm using it in the context you described in post #2 or post #6. I'll make a simplified version of the .ttt file and try to upload it here so you can see the full context and error messages.

Thanks

Re: Sensing if a light sensor is within a cone of light

Ok, thanks for this but I seem to be having trouble with the packing and unpacking of data into tables. I had those troubles earlier with the code in your post #2 however I was able to avoid needing to use tables at that stage, as shown in my post #5. However to work with multiple cones of light as ...
