Re: Linking Custom UIs

Yes I'm referring to the Qt-based GUI. I'm trying to implement a series of menus that are interlinked. I need to know how I can reference between 2 different UIs associated with 2 different objects. It seems I might have to use a signal when a button is clicked but just wanted to check if there was ...

Linking Custom UIs

Hi,

I'm using the Custom UI for my GUI and was wondering how to link 2 UIs associated with 2 separate objects. I would like UI-B to open when a button is clicked on UI-A and UI-A is also closed. How can this be done?

Thanks

Vrep performance

Hi, Using 5 vision sensors and rendering them in my scene has really slowed down the vrep simulation. However, V-rep is not fully utilising my CPU(26%) or GPU(40%). I'm using an Intel Core i7 with GTX 680M in SLI. Does Vrep use multi-core,threading or SLI for any of its processing? I've tried doing ...

Re: Custom UI button missing

Hi,

That button was for the OpenGL version. The new Vrep build now supports Qt based custom UI which does not have a menu I believe and everything is done through xml. Have a look here and here.

Best of luck

Downsampling vision sensor

Hi, I'm trying to downsample the image of the scene obtained from the vision sensor and display it in my custom UI using simExtCustomUI_setImageData . Specifically, my vision sensor has resolution 1920x1080 and I'm trying to display it in a lower resolution at 800x600. I've tried the built in vision...

Undocking floating views

Hi,

I was wondering if it was possible to drag the floating views outside of the main Vrep window. I'd like to split the views across multiple screens as there is not enough space for all in one window. If it's not possible, is it something that can be easily implemented? Thanks

Real time teleoperation

Hi, I am working on manual teleoperation using a joystick to control a robot arm. I've got it working using inverse kinematics to position the end effector but this is not realistic in that the robot snaps to the position immediately rather than over time. I'd also like to detect/ avoid collisions w...

Dynamic hybrid joints

Hi, I'm simulating a dynamic LBR4 robot arm and controlling it via IK. The problem I'm having is that when dynamic mode is on, the redundant joint is moving by itself for a while before stopping. Looks like some kind of effect of gravity. I've tried playing around with the torque values but it doesn...

simSet method intricacies

Hi, I'd like to know exactly when the simSetObjectPosition, simSetObjectOrientation, simSet.... methods actually perform the update of the position/orientation etc.? I ask this because in my code when I update a position and then immediately after if I check that it has been updated through an if st...

Display coordinate frame

Hi, I'd like to be able to persistently display the coordinate frame (red, blue, green arrows) of an object (e.g. joints of a robot arm) during simulation. Is this possible? I've tried using the dummy object but it's not the optimum solution. The arrows are too thin so not really visible unless very c...
