Spread the word about the VR Interface for VREP
Hi Coppelia, The visibility of the posts where I announced the availability of the V-REP VR Interface is not optimal. Because the added value of VR in the design of robotic or automation systems (ABB is one of the early adopters of VR) is great, I think many people can benefit from this interface. T...

V-REP vr Interface (installation, usage and feature overview) video
I have posted a video on youtube where I explain how to install the V-REP VR Interface and how to use it. If you're interested in the Interface, but don't know whether it is worth your time, this video can also help as I give an overview of its capabilities. Not the best production quality, but it'l...

Re: Connecting a VR Goggles to a Camera in V-Rep
Hi, I would like to point to our V-REP VR interface available on GitHub: https://github.com/BorisBogaerts/V-REP-VR-Interface. It is not based on Vision Sensor rendering but it does the trick (maybe even better than using a Vision Sensor). A demo that is included in the interface: https://www.youtube...

Re: Interactive camera network design in VR using V-REP
The implementation of this work is now also available in the V-REP VR Interface. I have moved the VR interface to github: https://github.com/BorisBogaerts/V-REP-VR-Interface New features: - Binaries are replaced by a microsoft installer file (.msi) to make installation hopefully even easier. - The i...

Re: VREP in virtual reality
Thanks for the nice replies.
Ishachar, in theory it should have worked, it is nice to actually have a confirmation that it works. I, however, do not think the motion controllers will work. The interface uses the openVR implementation of VTK which is designed around the HTC-VIVE.

Interactive camera network design in VR using V-REP
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dsh8oyN4sD0&t%EF%BB%BF= The main work is performed by VTK (visualization toolkit) but VREP is used as the simulation environment and modeling environment. Using V-REP as simulation and modeling environment made this work possible. Arxiv paper: https://arxiv.org/ab...

A virtual reality user interface was created that allows a user to define an inspection path. The user gets feedback of the completeness of the scan and gets a virtual view of the camera.
