From your post, it seems you have already tried following, but please try again:

in the system/usrset.txt file, set variable renderingSurfaceVShift to 20 (or similar).

Questions:
  • does the black area grow, become smaller, or also appears in the bottom of the screen?
  • When you click in the scene, can you adjust above value so that the clicked point corresponds to the red dot?
  • Without adjusting above value, does the red dot appear above or below of the clicked point?

Here is what I have originally:

And here is what I get If I set renderingSurfaceVShift=20:

It seems like working area has been moved to an upper position, but the black area is still there without any changes.

If I don't adjust that value and I click, this is what I see:

I can adjust that value to 27 and when I click the red dot is vertical align with the mouse but a little bit on the right, you can see it here:

Sorry, I think we cannot help you more here. It is a big mystery. Last hope would be to play with the Windows display settings, or try to change the resolution of your screen.
