VREP crashes when using highResDisplay = 1

Post by diogo_almeida »

Hello,

When running a simulation with highResDisplay = 1 in system/usrset.txt, VREP crashes for all simulation conditions but the very fastest ones (accuracy: very fast, dt=200ms).

My system is a dell xps13 (2015), running ubuntu 12.04. When disabling the highResDisplay I can run simulations normally, but the text becomes barely readable.

Thanks,
Diogo

Hello Diogo,

this is strange, since the physics engine is not linked in any way to the screen.
Can you try to disable the physics engine temporarily to see if the crash still occurs? You can disable it in the general dynamics properties.
Also, can you try to enable debugging and check what the last printed text is before the crash? You can do this with [Menu bar --> Help --> Debug -->...]. I would turn on the internal function access, the C API access and the Lua API access. Beware that turning debugging on will drastically slow down V-REP.

Cheers
