Grouping objects changes the axes

Post by johnrowlay »

In V-REP 3.5, let's say I create a cuboid shape, and then copy that cuboid, and move it next to the first cuboid. The axes of the two cuboids are aligned at this point. Then, I group the two cuboids together using "Edit -> Grouping / Merging -> Group selected shapes", it groups the cuboids as expected; but it also changes the axes. It does not rotate either of the two cuboids, but it flips the axes. Is this a bug?

Hello,

no, that is normal. The bounding box will always be aligned with the object reference frame, and by default, the bounding box will be selected to be smallest. But you can change the bounding box for most shapes with [Menu bar --> Edit --> Reorient bounding box --> ...]

Cheers
