URDF Imported Incorrectly

Hi,

I am using the URDF importer plugin to import a model of a Kinova arm, unfortunately it appears that the plugin incorrectly instantiates the model. I have imported the same URDF into other environments and have not had this problem, this leads me to the assumption that V-Rep performs a transformation incorrectly.

Hello,

yes, you are right. There is a problem with the current URDF importer. Probably the problem is due to the fact that the robot is not in neutral configuration.

Why don't you use the Kinova arm already available in the V-REP model library?

Hi,

Is there any plans for the URDF plugin to be fixed in the near future?

And the Kinova arm is more as a proof of concept, I plan on using other arms and different configurations in the future.

Fixing the URDF plugin is not a high priority right now. You are free to try your hands on it.
