Hi there.
I ran into this same error message "Error: signal 11:", yesterday.

background info:
I have Ubuntu on windows 18.04 installed. (subsystem)
I have ROS for Ubuntu installed.
I have V-REP v3.6.2 for Ubuntu installed.
I have created a workspace and followed the procedures for the V-REP RosInterface.
I was able to successfully catkin build the workspace.
I successfully started roscore in one terminal.
Opened another and went to the V-REP directory and tried ./vrep.sh to launch.

It was having a problem with the "xcb" message: (output)
_____
Got keys from plugin meta data ("xcb")
loaded library "/my home directory/V-REP_PRO_EDU_V3_6_2_Ubuntu18_04/platforms/libqxcb.so"
qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the QA platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found.
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Available plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, ....and so on

./vrep.sh: line 33: 8812 Aborted (core dumped)....
_____

I searched online and found numerous ways people solved that problem as it related to their setup.
I managed to get further along. I can't remember off the top of my head...its all at home.
I believe I had to install some other software and configure my compiler for Qt thru Qt Creator.
I had set QT_DEBUG_PLUGINS=1, to give a more detailed following of how things were shaking out (shows meta data).

And that all led me to this: (output)
_____

My first thought is that it coud be some kind of running out of memory problem OR something that makes it appear that it is a memory problem.
That's all I got.
I hope this added info helps with a solution.

Thanks, Jay
