Closing of a link of chains

As per my question in this forum post (viewtopic.php?f=9&t=4325), I found it pretty involved just to snap a geometric constraint together to close a link.

I would be nice if a feature for snapping together the closing link (pair of dummy links) of two open chains of links would be created (one which would not break the position and orientation of joints higher up the individual open chains). Would be nice if this feature was in the model building mode.

As I said in forum post, only way I could find to do this is to convert all joints to inverse kinematic, then run the geometric constraint solver. Then have to lock position after the solving during simulation, then convert all joints back to force/torque.

Just my suggestion!
