V-REP messages do not appear in my console

Post by alphaUser » 12 Feb 2013, 16:02

Hello,

I am using V-REP 3.0.0 on MacOS X, and I can't see V-REP messages in my console. I would like to verify whether my plugin loaded correctly.

Thanks

Hello,

On MacOS, the messages are displayed only once V-REP quits, and sometimes, for obscure reasons, the messages are never displayed.
What you can however do is open a terminal, then from within the installation folder type: "vrep.app/Contents/MacOS/vrep"

The output should be viewable in the terminal (not console this time!)

To verify if a plugin was correctly loaded, you can also drag-and-drop the "model/other/plugin enumerator" model into the scene and run the simulation: all loaded plugins will display.

Cheers

If the problem you're having is that lua's "print" does nothing, you can also do something like this:

Code: Select all

if simGetScriptExecutionCount() == 0 then
  console = simAuxiliaryConsoleOpen("Aux Console", 500, 0x10)
  oldprint = print
  print = function(...)
    simAuxiliaryConsolePrint(console, ...)
  end
end
