Importing object

Post by Pikapi » 11 Aug 2013, 15:37

Hi, I was importing a 3D bunch of grapes into V-Rep. But when i set the object to respondable and static, the object drop onto the floor. How to make the object stay in the middle of air and also remain as not static? Thanks!

Hello,

You made the shape static and it is still falling? This means that it is probably built on top of a non-static shape itself falling.
If you want to have a non-static shape that doesn't fall, set the gravity to 0 in the dynamics dialog.

The easiest would be to upload your scene to a free online storage, so that we could have a look at it.

Cheers

Hi, I made the object Not-Static. I also do not want the object to fall on the floor. Is that the only method by setting gravity to 0 to avoid the object falling? Thanks.

Yes, it is. Unless you add artificial forces that keep your non-static shape in the air!

Have a look at simAddForceAndTorque.
