rectifying object position after simResetDynamicObject

Post by Boris » 04 Dec 2017, 11:11

Hello,

In the documentation of the api for the function simResetDynamicObject it is mentioned that the user is in charge of rectifying the position of the object after dynamic reset.

We do this by getting the object position before dynamically resetting it, and we set the object to this position after the dynamic reset. Is this the the correct procedure? We impemented this in an optimization procedure and noticed that the object position still drifted.

Hello Boris,

that sounds correct. But you will also have to do the same with the orientation. Best would be to use simGetConfigurationTree and simSetConfigurationTree for that, as described in this post.
