I was wondering if someone could help me. I'm trying to install the educational version of v-rep, but there does not seem to be an option to change the install directory, it defaults to \Program Files (x86)\ (windows 8). Am I missing something ?

Hello,
you are right, the installation directory is fixed. You could move it afterwards. But if you do so, you won't be able to open a V-REP scene by double-clicking it, since the launcher won't be found. But except for that, functionality should not change in a different directory.
