Reset Scene Vrep

Post by minisch »

Hi to everyone,

I am simulating 5 quadrotors in a scene of VREP. I have the following problem.

I am testing different controllers and I am using ROS and the vrep_ros_bridge. It is working fine as soon as the quadrotors don't become unstable.

I mean, if the quadrotors go , for whatever reason, to hell, ...they fall or whatever. I stop the scene, open a new one and the quadrotor try to go in the 'hell' position which is the one in which they were when I stopped the scene.

Is there a way to cleanup the 'memory' of VREP or something like that.

Actually I am not sure it is a problem of VREP but it could also be that is a problem of ROS. So, if there is not a way to cleanup VREP I will try to find a way to cleanup ROS messages.

Thanks for the help.

Hello,

not sure what you mean with cleaning up V-REP. Reset the scene to its initial state?
The best would be at the end of one simulation (where the robot fails), to stop the simulation and start it again. Before starting it again, you could adjust some parameters.
You can also close the scene, and load it again.
Or, you can keep the simulation running, erase the robot that failed, and load that robot model again.

Cheers
