Moment of inertia

Post by goutamgmb »

I am working on doing a dynamic simulation. While modelling, I observed that moment of inertia isnt updated when I change the mass of an object. Also I guess the moment of inertia calculated is by assuming that the object is of unit mass. Is it true?
Also is there anyway to get over it? I want V-REP to directly calculate moment of inertia assuming uniform mass distribution once mass is updated. Is it possible to achieve this?

Hello,

all the moments of inertia that you specify in V-REP are massless, i.e. are divided by the mass of the object. If you want to obtain the moment of inertia, simply multiply the massless moment of inertia with the mass.

Cheers
