Hi,
I am looking in to getting a server to run many large V-REP simulations in parallel (headless mode on ubuntu). I have been trying to find some recommended specifications for this but have been unable to locate any. Currently we are looking at buying 3 rack servers with 20 physical cores (10 / proc) and 128GB of RAM in each. Would this be sufficient to run say 10+ different large simulations at once? If not, what is the best hardware setup to scale parallel simulations?
Thanks!
V-REP Headless Server
Re: V-REP Headless Server
Edit: make sure to first read this topic about headless mode.
Hello,
if you run several headless instances of V-REP, the OS should automatically distribute the load across the available cores. But in the end, you can never tell how well it scales until you have tried. Maybe you can make some simple tests on smaller systems?
Cheers
