Pack Table in Coppeliasim and Unpack in Python Remote API

Hello Coppelia, I see that there are multiple different ways to pack table in Lua scripts: such as packInt, packFloat, packDouble, packTable, etc. But there are only unpackInt and unpackFloat for the remote API, what if I want to pack table of table such as {{1,2,3 },{3,4,5}} and unpack them in pyth...

Re: Python Remote API get object position and orientation

You are not using the streaming mode of the legacy remote API correctly. What are the return codes? in your case the err_code See the example in the link above: you will see that as long as the return code is not 0, the first data hasn't arrived yet. Cheers Hi Coppelia, I have solved the streaming ...

Re: Python Remote API get object position and orientation

Hello, Please show us some simplified code, how you are calling those functions. Cheers err_code, pos0 = sim.simxGetObjectPosition(self.clientID, self.cube_list[0], -1, sim.simx_opmode_streaming) # blocking err_code, ori0 = sim.simxGetObjectOrientation(self.clientID, self.cube_list[0], -1, sim.simx...

Python Remote API get object position and orientation

Hello Coppelia, I want to store some cube's position and orientation after grasping motion is done then recover them. But I get some issues that the positions and orientations recovered don't seem to be fully correct. Now I'm using the blocking opmode, while I know that the recommended opmode for si...

Start a motion after the previous motion is done (or command)

Hello Coppelia, I'd like to achieve the effect that a command is executed after the previous one is fully finished. For example, I have two Inverse Kinematics movements, but I want the second one to be executed after the first one is done (now what I do is to do sim.wait(some time) or use time.sleep...

The target and tip get away from a straight line

Hi Coppelia, I did an IK job for my UR5 arm and a Baxter gripper using a script and python remote API. Because there is no IK function in python remote API, so I have to call an IK script function using sim.simxCallScriptFunction The data are the IK group defined in the init section: ikEnv=simIK.cre...

Control how much to close Robotiq-85

Hi Coppelia,

I want to do a two-stage grasping using Robotiq-85 gripper, can I control how much I close for Robotiq-85?
Thank you very much!

Re: Process Depth Image taken from a perspective vision sensor

Perhaps depth info is disabled in the object properties of the vision sensor? Or objects are not renderable ? Hi fferri, Thank you! I changed the mode to blocking and now it works, is this normal? Another question is that for my image 512*512, the buffer length is also 512*512, this makes sense. Bu...

Process Depth Image taken from a perspective vision sensor

Hello Coppelia, I've taken an image from the top view to a table, and there are some cubes on the table. I want to get a pure 2d image only with their top faces appearing in the image, but with a perspective vision sensor their side faces appear as well (I need to use a perspective vision sensor). I...

Get the first layer of Depth Image

Hello Coppelia,

I'm using the perspective vision sensor in simulation.
But I have some troubles with the depth information, can I extract the top layer image only in some ways?
Thank you very much!
