Re: How to use external editor like vim with VREP?

Okay... I figured what was the problem. The embScript_* files were being created in a non-existing folder. The problem was that Win10 automatically sets my home folder name with a space. Thus, if I do not add " ", it sets the defaultDirectoryForExternalScriptEditor to the subdirectory &quo...

Re: How to use external editor like vim with VREP?

Hello, I tried running the program in admin mode, but it produces the same result. I am running the: V-REP PRO, Version 3.6.2 (rev. 0) 64bit (serialization version 22) (Qt Version 5.12.1, MSVC2017), on a Windows 10 Pro OS. The second solution is not ideal to me. Guess I'll stick with the default edi...

Re: How to use external editor like vim with VREP?

Hello, I adjusted the variable as you told me to. When I try to open the script with notepad++ editor, I get the following warning. https://i.imgur.com/zYngPoa.jpg With VSCode the same behavior happens as last time. It now tries to look for the script file to open in the defaultDirectoryForExternalS...

Re: How to use external editor like vim with VREP?

Hello Coppelia, I tried your suggestion but I cannot get an external editor to work. When I try to open the 'ResizableFloor_5_25' customization script I get the following: With notepad++ I get the following warning externalScriptEditor = "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\notepad++.exe" https://i...

Re: How to use external editor like vim with VREP?

Hello,

I just installed the latest version (3.6.2 rev.0) because of this, but this option is still not available.
Should we expect this in a future revision of this version still?

Re: Sawyer by Rethink Robotics

Hi Coppelia, I was finally able to reach Rethink Robotics and obtain access to the 3D files of the Sawyer robot model. I took a look at the part and assembly files of the robot, which contain a clean version of the model with just the shell (I believe this is what you meant by clean). They agreed to...

Re: Sawyer by Rethink Robotics

Hello Coppelia,

I'm glad to know you are also interested. I tried contacting them, but still got no answer.
I'll reach out to more contacts, and I'll let you know by the next week if I have any updates.

Thanks for replying!

Best regards,
Carlos

Sawyer by Rethink Robotics

Hi V-Rep community, I am interested in working with the Sawyer robot from Rethink Robotics. http://www.rethinkrobotics.com/sawyer-intera-3/ Seeing the simulator has the Baxter model from the same company, my question is if there are plans to include this new model. I tried to contact the company but...

RML and waypoints

Dear community, I have looked and used RML to implement a joint trajectory controller for a 7 DOF robotic manipulator based on their position-based algorithm. It works fine when generating and executing trajectories from an initial to a final set of joint positions, because the initial and target ve...

V-Rep ROS Bridge Pack

Dear all, I am looking into the vrep_ros_bridge package ( http://wiki.ros.org/vrep_ros_bridge ). The installation and usage from the V-Rep side are pretty straightforward, you can either read the available documentation or look for the scripts in *.ttt examples. However on the ROS side, there is lit...
