Jumping movement. Impulse.

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible with VREP, to simulate "jumping"? I am working with different robot morphologies, and I am wondering if I could design a robot in order to move like a frog: using the impulse to displace (this has others applications rather than building a frog robot) I'...

Re: Issue with Physics engines.

Hi fferri, I think that I've build the scene following those advice. Here, I have a link with the scene and my python code for testing the strange behavior. I think that both are quite simple. The program is "2019_12_12_walker.py"" https://www.dropbox.com/sh/yivivlwjjitoq1h/AADxiRNTOqHDm6jr1ti3HueGa...

Issue with Physics engines.

Hello, I have an issue with the physics engines. For simulation, I was using for long time the default VREP configuration: Bullet 2.78, 50ms time step, etc. for my experiments. Under my point of view, it has always work fine. I am using the Python legacy remote API and working in synchronous mode. H...

Re: Collision detection concept

I've found what I was missunderstanding. I was missunderstanding the concept of object: - The computational object of the calculation model properties build by two shapes and - what I understood as "object": which for me was a shape. Now my code works. It works with the remote API and with the Lua f...

Collision detection concept

Hello, I am interested in performing a simulation consisting of a robotic arm learning to hit a ball with a racket. For this I use the Python legacy remoteAPI. To develop the learning task, I need to know if the racket has hit the ball or not at some point. I think the best way to do this is to try ...

Issue in running VREP in a cluster

Hi Coppelia, I am trying to run VREP in headless mode in a computational cluster and I connot do that, which I deduce are due to the version of Linux installed in the cluster. The cluster version is: NAME = "Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server" VERSION = "7.5 (Maipo)" ID = "rhel" ID_LIKE = "fedora" VARI...

Max number of items in a scene and performance.

Hello Coppelia, I am planning to build a complex environment in VREP with several objects in the scene, for simulate robotic navigation and colaborative robotics in an heterogeneous environment. Apart from my personalizes robots which are going to be controlled by myself by an external API, I have p...

Draw over a surface

Hello, I am interested on being able to simulate "draw" over a surface, as it is presented at the beginning of your promotional video of 2014 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gBYqOBdIcaY). What I want is something like that: simulate a robot draw over a surface and detect it by a vision sensor. I've...

Re: Segfault on start-up in Ubuntu 18.04

Hello,

I've found today the same issue, but installing what fabro and fferri posted here looks like it works for me. The user interface show sometimes strange behaviors, but the simulation seems to work properly.

Thanks for posting a solution.

Regards!
