Re: fastest way to check for occupancy

I didn't mention that I want to build an occupancy grid. So imagine that you subdivide the 3D space into little cubes. Each cube has to be tested for occupancy: - some cubes are in the free space (indeed they don't collide) - some cubes intersect the meshes of collidable objects (and they collide) -...

fastest way to check for occupancy

What's the fastest way of checking occupancy of a box region which is aligned with the world axes? If I create a pure cuboid shape, scale it, and move it, then use simCheckCollision (cuboid, sim_handle_all) it would partially work, i.e. it would detect the occupancy if the face of the cube collides ...

Re: Call Lua functions in an external file

is it possible to have that path relative to the scene?

i.e. is there a function to retrieve the path of current scene, so that it can be added to package.path?

creating robot via script: respondable mask and motor params

I want to create my mobile robot (an articulated tracked robot) via script. The motivation behind this is to avoid repeated operations, for example if I want to change the number of rollers, or change a property common to all rollers, and stuff like this. I managed to create a kinematic chain of obj...

crash on new machine: terminate called after throwing an ins

I got a new machine, installed Ubuntu 14.04.2, and V-REP 3.2.0rev6. When launching V-REP, it crashes with this error: $ ./vrep.sh Add-on script 'vrepAddOnScript-addOnScriptDemo.lua' was loaded. terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::exception' what(): std::exception Aborted (core dumpe...

v_repExtRos not working on OS X and Windows

After building v_repExtRos plugin for OS X, it fails to load, because it will look for libv_repExtRos.so, instead of libv_repExtRos.dylib. I changed the part where it will unconditionally look for the ".so" file, with the corresponding part from v_repExtK3, which is macro based and will look for the...

Re: V-REP's window WM_CLASS attribute is empty on Linux

Great! Then, provided that also the changes to vrep.sh have been done, you can have V-REP integrated with GNOME menu and Ubuntu Unity, by creating a file in $HOME/.local/share/applications/vrep.desktop (or in the global location /usr/local/share/applications/vrep.desktop) with contents: #!/usr/bin/e...

V-REP's window WM_CLASS attribute is empty on Linux

The WM_CLASS attribute of the V-REP main window (used by window manager to associate windows with the owning application), is not set. You can find out by running in a terminal xprop WM_CLASS and clicking anywhere in the V-REP window. Output on my machine: $ xprop WM_CLASS WM_CLASS(STRING) = " ", " ...
