Re: Fail to publish to ROS from plugin

All plugins run in the same thread, so having multiple plugins using ROS it is like calling ros::init multiple times in a node.
The first (or the last??) call to ros::init sets the node name.

Re: Fail to publish to ROS from plugin

Now I tried to use the ros_server_skeleton.h file in my plugin to handle the node initialization and publishers but I get the same error. As long as I include the .h file in my project, it fails. I have added the .h and .cpp to the makefile. Can I be getting this dependencies error because I am not...

Re: Fail to publish to ROS from plugin

Please post the output of

Code: Select all

ldd pluginName.so
Also tell us how do you start V-REP.

You should start V-REP in a terminal after loading the ROS initialization scripts, e.g.

Code: Select all

source /opt/ros/.../setup.bash

Re: Compiling V-Rep under Ubuntu 14.04

I think you should use the same Qt version of the compiled V-REP.

You can check Qt version in Help->About.

On OSX, V-REP 3.3.1 uses Qt 5.5

Re: Publish 3D position in ROS

The definition of Point32 is as follows: [geometry_msgs/Point32]: float32 x float32 y float32 z You are not setting any of these fields (what you are doing is filling a 'data' field with current simulation time). You should do something like this in the actuation callback: p=simGetObjectPosition(you...

Re: OMPL optimization objective

Hi,
optimization objective is an OMPL feature that is not currently exposed by the V-REP OMPL plugin.
Maybe it will be in a future release.

Re: CustomUI combobox onChange event called with invalid arg

I tried your example: when I click the Remove All Items button, I see several lines such as "newIndex: 0 is bigger or equal to size: 0" and finally one line "it was below zero". This is perfectly reasonable, because message delivery is asynchronous * (see below for a more detailed explanation), and ...

Re: CustomUI combobox onChange event called with invalid arg

The selected index of a combobox in Qt can change when removing items. Suppose you have your combobox: <combobox id="1005" onchange="comboboxChange">
First item

Second item

Third item
</combobox> and "Third item" is selected (selected index is 2). Now if you re...

Re: How can I use my own srv in RosInterface

Hello, thanks for reporting this issue. There was a bug, which now has been fixed. If you don't want to wait for the next release, you can simply pull latest changes from v_repExtRosInterface.git and v_repStubsGen.git and recompile the RosInterface plugin by yourself. By the way, the service respons...
