Creating a retro reflective photo electric sensor

Post by robo_ninja »

Hi,

I am new to V-REP. I wanted to know what is the best way to create a retro reflective sensor on V-REP?? I am using a laser pointer, which sends a laser and a vision sensor as receiver (ideally there needs to be a reflective surface on the receiving end, but I don't know how to add that). But the received output is flickering. How can I adjust that?

Thank you in advance

Hello,

you will have to cheat a little bit in order to simulate this. This is what I would do:
  • Use a proximity sensor or type ray, and constantly check if you can detect the mirror. If yes, you can see the mirror
  • The simply do geometric computations to extract the distance to the mirror and/or angle.
Cheers
