Controlling inverted pendulum from MATLAB (PID control)

Dear all,
I have been searching in the forum for similar problems, and although I have found related questions, none of them help me to solve my problem.
I have downloaded the scene proposed in : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z-gCr4icl1k, as long as the python code related to the control.
I am trying to control the scene from MATLAB, using the same tunning values from the original code, however, in my case the system starts rotating and becomes uncontrollable.
I am with it for days and days, and cannot find a solution.
Could anyone give some advise?
