Jumping movement. Impulse.

Post by martin »

Hello,

I would like to know if it is possible with VREP, to simulate "jumping"? I am working with different robot morphologies, and I am wondering if I could design a robot in order to move like a frog: using the impulse to displace (this has others applications rather than building a frog robot)

I've done some basic tests, and with the joints in torque/force mode, with control position, I wasn't unable to reach such "movement": the joints extend quickly and the movement is very fast, but the solids never "jump" over the floor.

Regards!

Hello,

did you try to use a joint without the control loop enabled. By simply setting its max. force/torque and target velocity?

Cheers
