Hi,
Once we import a CAD/stl into VREP, it does some sort of dimension scaling as the size of shape changes in the simulation window in comparison to the original CAD/stl file size/dimensions. Is that controllable apart from changing/setting manually the dimension/size.
regards.
Controlling dimensions of imported STL files
Re: Controlling dimensions of imported STL files
Hello,
in general, a mesh file (such as *.obj or *.stl format) does not contain any information about the units. i.e. does 1 correspond to 1 meter or 1 inch? Or maybe 1 mm? For that reason it is difficult to automatically handle that kind of situation when importing meshes in CoppeliaSim.
You can always scale the mesh via the import dialog. Additionally, you can scale any object/model in the scene via the add-on isometric scaling (from CoppeliaSim V4.2.0 upwards).
Cheers
