Import non-convex nozzle

Post by Horizon »

Hi,
I'm trying to import an STL mesh nozzle-liked shape and set it as responsible and dynamic.
In Coppeliasim v4.6.0, I got a worse simulation performance and almost can't use it.
I have tried to select 'morph into convex shape' and 'morph into convex decomposed shape'.
However, the result is not good and affects my visual algorithms.
Can you give me some advice?
Appreciate!

Hello,

using a simplified convex shape (or primitive shape, even better) is the way to go. What you can do is keep the original for visuals (but make sure it isn't simulated dynamically), and the simplified shape for dynamics calculations, but hidden. In many simulation models you will notice this approach. E.g. drag-and-drop the model Models/robots/non-mobile/KUKA LBR4+.ttm into the scene and open its scene hierarchy tree to see how it is composed.

Cheers
