How to test a full contact between a suction pad and an object

Post by juhel »

Hi,

With the provided suction pad provided with Coppelia, it attach to an object if there's only a simple contact with them. But, it's not realist, I mean that ALL the surface of the suction pad must cover completely the object, not only a simple contact. If this is true, it means that no air can escape from the suction pad.

So, how can I test that the suction pad completely cover an object? And if this object is composed of different primitive shapes like a model (I've made a dumbbell with 2 cuboids connected with a cuboid bar)?

Regards,

Philippe

Hello,

if you want to make sure that your suction pad is kind of air-tight, then you will have to add more proximity sensors. Then you can decide how many proximity sensors need to be triggered befor the suction pad becomes operational (instead of just one right now)

Cheers
