Desktop RTX 4090 + Windows 10 Pro 22H2: Blank Scene in CoppeliaSim v4.10.0

Post by cyj777 »

Hello everyone,
I’m facing a critical issue with CoppeliaSim on my desktop PC equipped with an NVIDIA RTX 4090, running Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (OS Build 19045.6456): the scene remains completely blank (no models, floor, lights, or any 3D visuals) when launching the software.
Environment Details:
Device: Desktop PC
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (OS Build 19045.6456)
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090
NVIDIA Driver Version: 581.57
CoppeliaSim Version: v4.10.0 (Windows, Edu edition)
OpenGL Info from Log:
[CoppeliaSim:loadinfo] OpenGL: NVIDIA Corporation, Renderer: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090/PCIe/SSE2, Version: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 581.57

Hello,

this typically is related with your driver/graphic card. Try to adjust settings in your windows environment. e.g. enable/disable Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling, Optimizations for windowed games, refresh rate, and all the GeForce-specific settings.
When did the problem start? Do you also see that problem with previous CoppeliaSim releases?

Cheers

Hello ,

Thank you for your guidance. The problem emerged about one week ago. I’ve also tested CoppeliaSim versions 4.9.0 and 4.7.0 by installing them via extraction, but encountered the same blank scene issue. I tried adjusting the OpenGL settings within the software, yet it didn’t resolve the problem.
Should I revert the OpenGL settings to their default values first and then proceed with the adjustments you suggested (like modifying "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling", "Optimizations for windowed games", refresh rate, and GeForce-specific settings)?
Additionally, I’m using the NVIDIA driver version 581.57. Could it be possible that this driver version is too new and causing compatibility issues with CoppeliaSim? I’ve also attempted various settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel, such as setting "OpenGL GDI Compatibility" to "Prefer Compatibility" and "Vulkan/OpenGL Present Method" to "Prefer layered on DXGI swapchain", but none of these worked.
Looking forward to your further instructions.
Best regards.

Thank you for the feed-back. Can you tell us how you resolved the issue? What was the problem?

We also encountered several general problems (e.g. sound, visual, app exec.) since the last Windows update, but those resolved gradually by themselve. The last Windows upodate is know to cause severe problems.

I resolved the issue by setting "Vulkan/OpenGL Present Method" to "Prefer layered on DXGI swapchain" in the NVIDIA Control Panel and keeping the OpenGL settings within CoppeliaSim at their default values. The problem was a blank scene when launching CoppeliaSim with an RTX 4090, which seemed to be caused by compatibility issues between the graphics card’s rendering method and the software.
