How can I generate path from to write a letter or draw a picture?

Is there any way or example I can work with generating path from a picture to draw it or to write a letter (I mean with font, size, etc) without using extention app like matlab?
Can I do it with only vrep?

You can have a look at the "3D Text Generator" add-on source code (in <coppeliaSim dir>/addOns/), which does something like that.
